> Safe In Place (safeinplace.org) is a free in-home assessment and licensed contractor-matching service for senior home-safety and accessibility work. Safe In Place serves Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and Palm Beach County, Florida, only.

Priority work is walk-in and accessible showers, tub-to-shower conversions, and stair lifts. Grab bars are a smaller add-on, not the main service.

## Price ranges

Planning ranges only. The written quote after a free in-home measurement sets the price. Safe In Place does not set the contractor's price and does not promise that Medicare, insurance, or the VA will pay.

- Accessible and walk-in showers: $3,500–$15,000. A tub-to-shower conversion starts around $3,500 and most land $4,000–$8,000. Curbless, zero-entry, and roll-in showers run $8,000–$15,000 because the floor is re-sloped for a linear drain.
- Tub-to-shower conversions: $3,500–$8,000.
- Stair lifts: $2,000–$5,000. Reconditioned from $2,000. New from $3,500. Straight or curved rails, with battery backup.
- Wheelchair ramps: $650–$3,700. A one-step threshold ramp is at the low end. A full entry ramp with landings and handrails is at the high end.
- Grab bars: from $350 for two, anchored into studs or rated hardware, never suction cups.
- Bathroom safety upgrades: from $400.
- Doorway widening: quoted per doorway.

1. The homeowner calls (786) 755-1120 or starts a free assessment at https://safeinplace.org/assessment.
2. Safe In Place visits the home, at no charge, and looks at the person and the space.
3. Safe In Place matches one licensed contractor. The contractor writes the quote and does the installation.
4. The homeowner decides whether to hire that contractor.
